
Wigen Water Technologies® has provided a large portion of the process equipment, including ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and oxygen degasification units, for JEA’s new H2.0 Purification Center in Jacksonville, Florida. This state-of-the-art, 1 MGD indirect potable reuse demonstration plant is currently in the final stages of start-up and was featured in a tour during the 2026 Southeast Desalting Association Annual Symposium. The UF system is comprised of 3 skid-mounted trains supplied with two different Toray modules and a Scinor module to allow a side-by-side comparison of their performance. The RO trains are 2-stage and 3-stage, designed to operate at recoveries of 80% to 85%, to compare the performance of the different arrays at the same recoveries for the design of future full-scale systems. The degasification system includes Liqui-cel membrane contactors for removing dissolved oxygen from the RO permeate. The system will maximize O2 removal, require less space, and use less energy than a conventional degas tower. The purpose of the degas system is to prevent the release of metals after injection of treated water into the groundwater.
