Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Systems
The unique combination of biological wastewater treatment and membrane filtration makes MBR technology a viable solution for many municipal and industrial applications. Biodegradable pollution is reduced using bacteria and microorganisms. Following biological treatment, the biological sludge is separated from the treated water by a hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane.
Wigen MBR systems utilize Title 22 approved flat sheet membranes made from high strength PVDF and PET materials with a nominal pore size of 0.08 microns. Individual unit modules include up to 200 elements with more than 3,000 ft2 of membrane area.
Our systems combine the operations of aeration, secondary clarification and filtration into a single, simplified process producing a high quality effluent at a fraction of the cost and space required for conventional technologies.
